Debate Topic: Should Convicted Felons Be Allowed to Vote?
Destiny Driven Inc. partnered with the Southern Poverty Law Center and Opportunity Youth United to host a community cypher which showcased local poets, social activists, and student debaters. Participants engaged in a discussion and debate on the cypher topic: voter restoration. This cypher increased awareness on voting engagement and obstacles that impede on the voting process. It also provided opportunities for student advocates and voting activists to collaborate, as well as encourage new voter registration.
